Boiling Pods

A woman living with her father hires a contract killer to get rid of bad old dad. Only dad had the same idea about his bad little girl, hiring the same guy and giving identical instructions for its fulfilment.

Why are their motivations? What are the instructions? What's the assassin like? What happens?

I think this was the plot of an old Sam Spade radio mystery. If it wasn't it should have been. Howard Duff was brilliant in that role. That would be the comedy interpretation.

It could also be a dark statement about two people who hate each other dying together. Maybe the experience would bring them close together.

Oh those radio mysteries, always so clever in devising these plots. I've been watching a lot of Hitchcock lately too, which no doubt is playing a part.

...you're always able to sense the underlying string to an impulse. I had that in mind.
