In seeking refuge from society a young couple buys a long-abandoned ship, only to find it inexplicably intact and bearing a precocious girl with a few claims on the nature of life.
~what is propelling the girl? who/what is the girl? does she want something? was she willed into being - if so, how? what does she stir in the couple?

Maybe she tries to seduce first the one, then the other of the couple, but in secret, so that neither the man nor woman knows that the other was tempted. The girl could learn from each and pass the knowledge on to the other, leading to astonishing moments of insight and realization.
I think one of us should write this story.
